At Allwest we change the way you work by creating workspaces that are inspiring, productive and healthy.
Our passion is providing workspace customization, seamless office moves, and assessment services so that our customers can concentrate on what they do.
Allwest was founded in 1974 by George Smith, as Allwest Institutional Furnishings. Allwest has grown to be a market leader in Northern Alberta and Western Canada in Office Furniture, Moveable Walls and Window Coverings, representing major manufactures like Teknion and Solarfective.
The company operated as Allwest Commercial Furnishings through the early 2000s after being purchased in 2012 by Edmonton businessman, Colin Eicher.
In 2017, Dr. W.A. Sam Shaw purchased the company and was named Allwest Furnishings Ltd. to prepare for product line and services expansion for the future. Under his leadership the company is expanding its product lines to better serve healthcare, K-12, and residential sectors. Premium services have also been added to ensure “we change the way people work” for our clients by promoting productivity, wellness and work spaces that feel good.
We promise to sustain our environmental commitments well beyond our current capabilities.
Whether it be Canada’s first LEED Gold Office Furniture Dealership; our use of Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading Green Energy provider; or our robust internal recycling program – you will find Allwest leading the industry in sustainability.
This includes supporting numerous charities and worthy causes, but also by being inclusive and caring enough to include developmentally challenged individuals as fellow staff members. We care about people and community.
Throughout the year Allwest can be seen supporting NorQuest College’s 1000 Women, a Million Possibilities, Brightview Elementary School, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield, Inclusion Alberta, Chrysalis, Make-A-Wish and many other great organizations and events.

Health Safety and Environment is an important part of our culture. At Allwest, we put employee safety first. We are committed to doing ZERO harm. We achieve this through extensive employee training, job planning, project reviews and following through with corrective actions. We are proud to be a COR partner through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
